Check valve, also known as one-way valve, has the main function of preventing fluid from flowing back in the pipeline. According to the structural characteristics and application scenarios, check valves can be mainly divided into the following three types:
1. Lift check valve: The valve disc of this valve is spherical or conical. When the medium flows, the valve disc rises to allow the fluid to pass; when the medium stops flowing or flows back, the valve disc drops under the action of its own weight or spring force, closing the valve to prevent the fluid from flowing back. Lift check valve is suitable for small-diameter liquid or gas pipelines.
2. Swing (or swing) check valve: The valve disc of the swing check valve rotates around an axis to control the flow of fluid. When the medium flows normally, the valve disc is pushed open by the fluid and rotates to the fully open position; when the medium flows back, the valve disc rotates and closes the valve under the action of fluid pressure and its own weight. Swing check valve is particularly suitable for large-diameter pipelines because it requires less force to open and has less fluid resistance.
3. Butterfly check valve: The butterfly check valve, also known as a butterfly check valve, has a disc that rotates around an axis in the valve seat to control the flow of fluid. The butterfly check valve has a simple structure, small footprint, light weight, and good sealing performance. It is suitable for small and medium-caliber liquid or gas pipelines, especially in situations where frequent opening and closing are required.
These three types of check valves have their own characteristics and are suitable for different pipeline systems and working conditions. When choosing, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as the specific medium properties, pipeline size, working pressure and temperature.
